3. What are cookies and comparable technologies?

Cookies are small data records stored on your device when you visit a website and may be read again on subsequent visits. Cookies may be set by us directly (first-party cookies) or by third-party providers whose services are embedded on our website (third-party cookies).

Comparable technologies include local storage, session storage, scripts, pixel tags, web beacons, device identifiers and other methods used to store information on or retrieve information from your device.

Session cookies are generally deleted when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain on your device for the period specified or until you delete them yourself.

4. Legal bases

4.1 Storage of and access to information on your device

Information is generally stored on your device, or information already stored there is accessed, only after your prior consent pursuant to Section 25(1) TDDDG.

Consent is not required under Section 25(2) TDDDG where storage or access is strictly necessary to transmit a communication over a public telecommunications network or to provide a digital service expressly requested by you.

4.2 Subsequent processing of personal data

Where cookies or comparable technologies involve the processing of personal data, processing may in particular be based on:

  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where you have given consent,
  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where processing is necessary for pre-contractual measures or performance of a contract,
  • Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR to comply with legal obligations,
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR to pursue legitimate interests, provided your interests, fundamental rights and freedoms do not override those interests.

Where Swiss data protection law applies, processing follows the principles of lawfulness, proportionality, purpose limitation, transparency and data security.

5. Consent management with Complianz

We use the WordPress plugin Complianz to obtain, implement and document your consent choices.

On your first visit, you can accept or reject non-essential categories and adjust detailed settings. Non-essential categories are not preselected. Rejection is available at the same level as consent.

Your decision is stored using technically necessary Complianz cookies. These cookies do not contain the content of your communications, but may contain your selected categories, the status of the consent banner and the underlying policy version.

You can change or withdraw your decision at any time with effect for the future using the consent-management function permanently available on the website.

6. Cookie categories

6.1 Technically necessary / functional

These cookies and technologies are required for secure operation of the website, storage of your consent decision or a function expressly requested by you. They cannot be disabled through the consent banner.

6.2 Preferences

These technologies store optional settings that are not strictly necessary for operation of the website. They are used only after your consent.

6.3 Statistics

Statistical technologies help us understand how our website is used and support technical and content improvements. Statistical technologies requiring consent are activated only after your consent.

6.4 External media and marketing

This category includes embedded videos, maps and social-media content. The relevant third-party services are loaded only after your consent. Providers may then use cookies or comparable technologies and may process data for their own analytics, profiling or advertising purposes.
